AUTOart are very proud to present their very first Torana Street Machine, the 1:18 Scale "Toxic" Holden LJ Torana GTR XU-1 in the awesome Acid Yellow Metallic colour scheme.
As one of Australia's most popular muscle cars, the LJ Torana offers a lot of potential for custom enthusiasts. It's a great shape, has plenty of notable pedigree but most importantly, it's a small car so the power to weight ratio when modifying these cars become an extreme factor, much the same as when they were raced back in the early seventies. Because of this, for our first LJ Torana Street Machine we decided to take more of a "pro street" approach to the model's modifications rather than going down the track of some of our previously released street customs and the results are impressive to say the least.
The modifications for this model are significant. Out is the regular stock engine, replaced by a 351 Chevrolet topped with a 6:71 supercharger and twin Dominator Carbs on the twin hump induction scoop lavished in chrome. It rides on fatter Drag ET radials on the back while the fronts are the slimmer ET Front runners. Inside, the interior is fully white, including the white bucket seats with racing harnesses, and four point roll cage.
As with all our Street Machine models, the exterior paint job is a feature within itself. The custom Acid Yellow Metallic paint job looks remarkable and works beautifully with the black and chrome features across the rest of the car. It has a bright bold look to it that is not only attractive to the eye but also a little intimidating at the same time, you could easily picture the Toxic LJ rumbling at the start of a quarter mile.
