In May 1969 the first of the XW GTs rolled off the Broadmeadows assembly line. Ford fitted the 351 cubic inch (58 litre) Windsor V8 and a big Holley carburettor. Bigger brakes, a huge 36 gallon fuel tank and suspension modifications to take the extra power made this Grand Tourer.
The HO variant arrived one month later, Handling Options that made this a high performance street machine.
The XW GT-HO Falcon was the fastest, best equipped Australian made performance car the the time.
