Up for sale is a Classic Carlectable 1:18 Ford BA Falcon - Shanghai Triple Eight Engineering
Coming off a win at the previous round at Eastern Creek, Craig Lowndes in the Team Betta Electrical backing Triple Eight Racing Engineering BA Falcon, had high hopes for the first V8 Supercar race held outside of Australasia.
Lowndes easily advanced into the Top-Ten Shootout with second fastest time in Saturdays qualifying session. However he could not replicate the performance in the Shootout flying lap, and would have to start the race in fifth position.
Lowndes finished the first race in a promising fourth position, but the remainder of the weekend would take a turn for the worse. Race 2 Lowndes made a great start, but his clutch had started to slip on the 2nd lap. He nursed the car back to the pits and was forced to retire when the team decided it would need replacing.
Lowndes had to start the final race from the back of the grid due to the previous race result. Going into the first corner he was unable to avoid a collision due to a concertina of cars. Again Lowndes nursed the car back to the pits, this time with front end damage. The car was retired after only the one lap.
