1:18 Classic Carlectable - Craig Lowndes's 1997 Bathurst 1000 - Holden VS Commodore.
Craig Lowdnes and Greg Murphy had great success in 1996, and it looked to be repeated in 1997. Starting 3rd on the grid (with Brock / Skaife 1st) both factory Holdens got a great start.
Running first and sencond this made an ominous sight at the head of the pacl.
The Mobile Holden Racing Team's luck changed when Lowndes race ended disastously. He hit the wall out of Castrol Curve on lap 38 whiole passiong a backmarker.
Their team mates race also ended when Skaife pitted on lap 52 with terminal engine problems. Not the end they hoped for.
